This past June, the Lanier Speech & Debate team competed at the National Speech & Debate Association's Middle School National Tournament in Dallas, TX.  The team competed against over 120 teams from 30 states and 5 countries and earned an Overall School of Excellence Award for their performance (only the top 3 performing schools can earn this award).

Competitors were Sarah Birenbaum, Olivia Faust, Angela Yokely, Ioana Nechiti, Sarika Kotha, Mariel Alquisira-Morales, Erin Mee, Chazz LaChina, Sam Frank, Luz Balderas, Joseph Donowho, Joseph Dowdall, Alex Nelson-Groocock, Alex Pantazopol, Will Derden, Cristian Gonzalez, Amalia Nichols, Emily Ramirez, Kathleen Sandoval, Lucy Ding, Lucy Wu, Emma Barrall, Emma Semaan, Pranav Konduri, James Li, David Tang, Jeffrey Chen, Michael Yu, Jude Hill, Allen Dao, Sameeha Shariff, Ethan Van Nostrand, Nika Filippov, Magdalena Hill, Zack White, Nick Kramer, Evan Finley, Mogi Taylor, Adele Lauzon, Pooja Vettical, Sara Frank, Rhiannon Morris and Sarah Lai.
